Crynodeb
This role involves line management of two subordinates and requires strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders in Defence including DES, SDA and Defence Support. You will manage the engagement with our DES delivery partner, overseeing warehousing and distribution operations in HMNB Portsmouth and HMNB Clyde. You will also be co-ordinating the RN logistics input to a range of wider organisational Support initiatives such the UKSTRATCOM lead Future Defence Support Services programme.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, negotiate, and implement Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with teams across our Delivery Agents, ensuring agreed performance metrics and accountability.
• Monitor and track performance using digital logistics tools, analysing delivery agent outcomes against planned milestones.
• Provide budgetary support, monitoring stakeholder spend and liaising with financial and commercial teams on behalf of DD Logs.
• Line manage two positions; prioritising workload, supporting professional development, and maximising team outputs.
• Support issue resolution; triaging and resolving logistics-related concerns directly impacting front line units.
• Contribute to governance and reporting, maintaining risk registers, contracts performance, and exploiting logistics management information to track improvement.
• Lead or coordinate miscellaneous projects as directed by NCHQ Support senior leadership on cross-directorate initiatives such as workforce management, learning and development, and cultural change programmes.
