Summary
We have big plans at Gedling Borough Council and we’re looking for exceptional individuals who can help us deliver them! Following a transformative restructuring programme, we are looking to recruit a new Assistant Director of Environmental Services (Operations). Focusing on being resident centric, commercially minded, data and performance driven we hope to position ourselves as the best council in the East Midlands, growing an environment where residents enjoy the lifestyle they deserve, in a place they are proud of.
We value experience and talent, but we are lean and have no space for passengers. You will need to be hungry to get stuck into the projects that we have, such as our Depot Modernisation Programme and wider corporate change agenda, and be a visible presence within the workplace.
Full details of the role are provided in the supporting documents below, but in essence applicants must have (but not limited to):
- a successful track record of managing operational teams and the performance of individuals
- relevant degree or professional qualification or management qualification (equivalent to NVQ level 5)
- substantial, recent senior experience of successfully managing one or more of the service areas covered by this post (Waste, Street Care, Fleet, Parks)
For this role, we are ideally looking for a candidate who holds a Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) to hold the Operator’s License or someone who is able to attain this certificate within an agreed timescale, (costs covered by the Council).
