Summary


The Ophthalmology service at Whipps Cross hospital is excited to present a compelling opportunity for a Band 5 Rota Coordinator to join our team. We are seeking a motivated and well-organised individual to support in coordinating Clinic and Theatre Forecasts, as well as handling recruitment, induction, and rotations for all medical staff within the Ophthalmology Department.

In this role, you will be the initial point of contact for on the day clinic-related inquiries and will collaborate closely with the services Service Delivery Manager, Service Manager and Clinical Leads.

This position offers an excellent chance for individuals looking to enhance their skills in clinic forecasting and management, while also developing leadership abilities in a dynamic and diverse service.

The position becomes permanent after successfully completing the probationary period.



This full-time role at Whipps Cross Hospital focuses on supporting the service by planning and organising Clinic and Theatre Forecasts up to eight weeks in advance both for weekday as well as weekend AdHoc activities. The post-holder's primary responsibility is to lead and oversee forecast management while collaborating closely with clinical teams to plan for staff absences or shortages in their clinics. They will also ensure that forecasts are sent out on time weekly and ensure it is accurate. The role requires working autonomously and liaising with consultants and team members to develop accurate forecasts.

The post-holder will serve as a crucial administrative liaison between the clinic and senior management team. They will also handle initial responses to any clinic-related issues and escalate matters to the Service Delivery Manager when necessary.

They will also assist the wider team with ad-hoc requests time to time, such as clinic bookings and cancellations. Additionally, the role includes some line management responsibilities.

Attending Pathway meetings and providing support, including taking minutes for some of them.
