Beckett House Montessori is an Montessori accredited School, registered with Ofsted for 20 places for children 2 years and above. We are a nurturing open plan setting, promoting a home-away-from-home enabled environment in the heart of Islington, established since the late 1990's. This role requires a qualified Nursery teacher to join our existing team of exciting EYFS & Montessorians to continue to develop the learning and our wonderful Montessori ethos at Beckett House.
Your role will include:
Working one of two shifts 8am to 4pm or 10am to 6pm Mon - Fri
Understanding and undertaking the age appropriate Montessori environment and materials inventory
Accomplishing the EYFS & Montessori starting points of where your key children are and sharing best practices with other teachers and their key children
Taking the children through the EYFS & Montessori materials and having responsibility for recording relevant information in relation to the assigned key children’s progress and attend parent’s evenings alongside the manager to discuss progress with the parents.
Key worker for approximately 4-6 children, supervising children in their daily Montessori activities, organising and preparing materials ensuring outcomes for each child
Able to converse with parents and reporting issues responsibly, presenting comprehensive observation and assessment, with written notes
Promoting the EYFS & Montessori ethos throughout your work, which should be visible Utilising the correct creative materials and managing the classroom layout
Taking spontaneous small groups of children through 'show and tell' of age appropriate materials.
Ensure Learning Journeys are accurate and complete
What you must have
Be able to start immediately
A Nursery or Montessori Teaching Qualification
You will be a minimum L3 Early Years practitioner
Live in central London for ease of travel
Demonstrate 1 years experience as a minimum
