Summary
Academic Advisor - Arabic and English Speaking | London | Office based, full time | £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Our client's Cultural Office is based in London and aims to enhance the partnership between Qatar and the United Kingdom in Culture and Education. Its main role is to ensure the success of Qatari students by providing counselling, guidance, supervision and support throughout their studies at institutes across the United Kingdom from admission to graduation.
Are you the right person for the job?
• Bachelor’s degree, and prefer postgraduate level
• Fluent in Arabic & English language.
• 10 years and above of experience including a minimum of 2 years in a related area.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent computer skills especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
What will your role look like?
• Provide counselling, guidance, and support to Qatari students about studying in the United Kingdom
• Supervise the academic performance of sponsored students at the universities
• Help students settle into their new life in the United Kingdom and Ireland and keep regular contact with them during their scholarship, by providing information, advice, support, regular communications and meetings
• Regularly obtain student feedback, maintain accurate records to monitor and evaluate the performance and provide related reports as required
• Coordinate with schools, colleges, and universities to explore the most suitable opportunities for the students
• Maintain and strengthen the relationship between the Cultural Attache’s Office and various institutes by holding regular meetings and visits when necessary
• Keep up to date with universities and fields within your scope of work to track changes and updates of regulations and news
• Work with educational institutes in Qatar to meet their requirements in the U.K. such as certificate equalisation & authentications
• Contribute to the preparation for the approved list of higher education institutes through review and evaluation of their performance from all the resources
• Keep up to date with UK education & higher education system
• Regularly review UKVI & visa regulations
• Arrange activities and events related to the partnership between the office and universities.
• Liaise with different bodies such as the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Embassy, Universities
• Analysis and evaluation of the Cultural Office work on a regular basis and prepare periodic reports regarding the Cultural Office work
• Prepare research and reports for management regarding statistics, educational institutions, education and higher education system in the United Kingdom
