Summary

Clinical Duties: Assist clinicians, nurses, and ophthalmic technicians in providing direct patient care. Perform basic clinical assessments, including: Measuring and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, temperature). Conducting basic ophthalmic tests (e.g., visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurements using Icare tonometry). Providing pre- and post-procedure support, ensuring patients are informed and reassured. Maintain infection control standards, ensuring clinical rooms and equipment are cleaned and stocked appropriately. Ensure correct handling, cleaning, and maintenance of ophthalmic and medical equipment, reporting faults when necessary.Support patients who require mobility assistance or additional care during their visit. Non-Clinical (Administrative) Duties:Welcome private patients, ensuring a smooth and professional check-in process. Maintain and update electronic patient records (EPR), ensuring all documentation is accurate and confidential. Handle patient inquiries in person, via telephone, and email, providing excellent customer service. Assist in the preparation and distribution of clinic documentation, including consent forms and patient information leaflets. Monitor and order stock and clinical supplies, ensuring all necessary equipment is available for clinic operations. Assist in the organization of clinician schedules and patient pathways to maintain efficiency. General Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to deliver a high-quality private patient experience. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection prevention, health & safety, and patient confidentiality regulations. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and clinical skills. Uphold the standards of professionalism, discretion, and excellence expected in a private healthcare setting. Provide compassionate, patient-focused care, ensuring private patients receive a premium healthcare experience.
