School Facilities Manager (Caretaker)- Keep Our School Safe, Secure & Running Smoothly!
We are looking for a dedicated School Facilities Manager to play a key role in ensuring our school remains a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and organised individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, security, and health and safety across our premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Security & Access: Open and close the school premises daily, including occasional evenings and weekends. Act as the principal key holder and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct in-house statutory testing, routine inspections, and maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Repairs & Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs and report major maintenance issues to relevant contractors. Ensure all entry points, including gates, doors, and windows, are secure and functional.
- Cleanliness & Hygiene: Support the upkeep of a clean and well-presented learning environment, maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Equipment & Utilities Management: Monitor and maintain school facilities, ensuring all utilities and equipment function effectively.
- Team & Community Support: Work closely with school staff to support operational needs and contribute positively to the wider school community.
What We're Looking For:
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, and health & safety procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Physical fitness to carry out manual tasks.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
