Role: Programme Director

Length: 12 months

Location: London - 3 days on site

Rate: £1200 per day via umbrella company

The Programme Director is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of large-scale programmes within the organisation. This role ensures that all projects within the programme align with business objectives, are delivered on time and within budget, and meet quality standards. The Programme Director will lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and drive successful programme outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the programme's strategic vision, goals, and objectives.

  • Oversee multiple projects within the programme, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.

  • Establish governance structures and best practices for effective programme management.

  • Monitor programme progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and addressing any issues proactively.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure efficient delivery.

  • Lead and mentor project managers and teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, clients, and partners.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.

  • Measure and report on programme performance using key metrics and KPIsKPIs.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in programme management.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Management, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Extensive experience in programme or project management within a relevant industry.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale programmes.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2PRINCE2, PMPPMP).

  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.

  • Experience working within a complex matrix business environment, managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

  • Proven expertise in leading large-scale IT transformation programmes, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies and systems.
