The successful candidate will have experience in Renal medicine and/or clinical research. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of high quality Commercial and NIHR (National Institute of Health Research) portfolio studies and will be expected to contribute to all aspects of trial delivery at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. This post will be predominantly leading the Renal research portfolio; however, the appointee may also be required to support the urgent public health and other Trust wide studies. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week (1.0 WTE), worked predominantly Monday-Friday (occasionally outside of this - with prior notice). The successful candidate will lead on a large portfolio of clinical trials both sponsored and hosted, commercial and non-commercial. You will be responsible for leading and developing the clinical study portfolio, providing high quality patient care from recruitment through to follow up, closeout and archive. You will be expected to develop solid working relationships with our external research partners such as pharmaceutical companies and non-commercial organisations (research networks) to support study identification, delivery and protocol development and funding. We are looking for someone with sound Renal knowledge and/or research experience, excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills whilst possessing a keen eye for detail. Previous line management experience and leadership skills are essential to support team and portfolio development, as is an ability to work independently and flexibly. The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic and ready to work actively to support recruiting patients in line with NIHR targets. There may be times when you will be asked to support other areas to achieve these targets, depending on your skills and experience. The post holder will be supported by senior nurses within the units, and the role is ideal for a highly motivated nurse who is keen to further develop their experience in clinical research nursing. The post holder will work in close collaboration with the Research Nursing Team, Principal Investigators, and research support staff, to ensure compliance with Trust Policy, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Tissue Act (HTA), and trial-specific protocols.
