Summary

As a Grounds Operative- Sports Crew, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at keeping our city clean and green. You will perform litter picking and street cleansing activities, ensuring that public spaces are free from debris and waste. Additionally, you will engage in grounds maintenance tasks such as hoeing, sweeping, pruning, hedge cutting, and grass cutting, contributing to the aesthetic and functional upkeep of parks and open spaces.
Operating various vehicles within the scope of your driving license will be part of your daily routine, allowing you to efficiently transport equipment and personnel to different locations. You will conduct general street cleansing, litter picking, and bin emptying, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in public areas. Basic care and maintenance of plants, tools, and equipment will be required, ensuring that all resources are in optimal working condition. Daily checks on vehicles and equipment will be essential to guarantee safety and functionality. Completing necessary paperwork as instructed will be part of your administrative duties, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a full UK driving license, which is essential for operating vehicles and transporting equipment. Evidence of working effectively as part of a team is necessary, as collaboration and teamwork are vital for achieving common goals.
You should be willing and able to use mechanical equipment and undergo training for maintenance equipment, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn. Customer service experience is important, as you will interact with the public and need to provide assistance and support. The ability to work in all weather conditions is essential, as the role requires outdoor work regardless of the weather.
