Summary

VolkerLaser repairs, strengthens and waterproofs concrete and steel structures, offering a tailored package of specialist works to clients across the UK. Our structural solutions include bridge deck waterproofing, expansion joints, concrete repair and cathodic protection works, steel repair and strengthening work, carbon fibre and temporary works, jacking and bearing replacement. We also provide specialist lightweight decking and access solutions, as well as being specialists in long bridge and cable refurbishment.

Overall role purpose:

The holder of this role is responsible for providing external and internal communications and marketing support to VolkerLaser, to help ensure that the business and its activities are communicated and promoted through a range of deliverables across the full communications mix.

The role reports into the Head of CSR ,Marketing and Communications for VolkerLaser.

The role is based in Worcester with occasional travel to other offices, sites and locations across the country as required.

Key responsibilities:

The Marketing and Corporate Communications Coordinator is responsible for the following, and also for other activities as required by the local business unit or line manager.

External communications

  • Assisting with the production of corporate literature
  • Assisting with the drafting and production of case studies
  • Uploading content to the corporate website[s]
  • Helping draft and upload social media posts

Internal communications

  • Writing internal news stories and articles
  • Uploading content to the internal intranet
  • Assisting in the delivery of internal campaigns and materials

Marketing

  • Helping to develop and implement social media marketing strategy

Measurement

  • Media monitoring and circulation
  • Assisting with website, social media and intranet analytics
  • Monitoring market industry news and submitting reports on emerging trends to management

Brand and design

  • Managing stocks and orders of corporate merchandise
  • Assisting with design-based tasks
  • Taking photos as required, according to a brief

Administration

  • Provide administrative support to the team
  • Updating marketing database where needed

Other

  • Event management support
  • Assist with photography
  • Business unit point of contact for photography management bank
  • Developing relationships with other departments, stakeholders and outside agencies
  • Working with other Corporate Communications Coordinators on group-wide projects

About you

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience of social media channels is desirable
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite is desirable (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Experience with online content management systems is desirable
  • Experience of working in a communications or marketing department is desirable
