Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to provide expert guidance and support to our clients across a range of industries including high risk sectors. The role involves conducting risk assessments, developing policies, delivering training, and ensuring clients remain compliant with UK H&S legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

H&S Compliance & Advisory: Provide expert advice on H&S legislation, policies, and best practices to clients.
Risk Assessments & Audits: Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Policy Development: Assist in creating, reviewing, and implementing H&S policies and procedures tailored to each client’s industry and risk level.
Training & Coaching: Deliver H&S training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for managers and employees.
Incident Investigation: Support clients in investigating workplace accidents, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative measures.
Health & Safety Culture: Work with businesses to build a positive H&S culture and improve safety engagement at all levels.
Client Support: Act as a trusted advisor, providing on-site and remote consultancy services, responding to H&S queries, and offering solutions to complex safety challenges.
Keeping Up to Date: Stay informed on changes in UK H&S laws and industry best practices to ensure clients remain compliant.


Essential Skills & Experience:

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification (or working towards it).
Chartered Membership of IOSH (or working towards).
Proven experience as an H&S Consultant, Advisor, or Manager, ideally within an HR or consultancy environment.
Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, including HASAWA, PUWER, COSHH, RIDDOR, DSEAR and CDM regulations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and training delivery skills.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and audits across various industries.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk management.
Full UK driving licence (some travel may be required).


Desirable Experience:

Experience working with SMEs and larger corporate clients.
Knowledge of HR processes and how H&S integrates with employee relations.
Experience using H&S management software systems.
Fire safety or first aid training qualifications.
