What skills and experience we're looking for

The school

Dobcroft Infant School is a friendly, welcoming, and creative school with an inclusive ethos. We have a 26 place pre-school and three form entry (90 children in each year) foundation stage two and KS1. The school is in south west Sheffield, in the Millhouses region. We are proud of our children who are enthusiastic, kind and happy.

The role

Dobcroft Infants have an exciting opportunity for a talented and caring candidate to join our team as a FS2 teacher on a part time (0.2) maternity contract. Our aim is “To provide a foundation for fulfilled lives, inspiring confident and happy learners”. We do this through having high aspirations and expectations for the children in our care and they are at the heart of everything we do.

We are a trauma informed school and are therefore seeking someone with a genuine passion for developing positive relationships and a commitment to providing a relational approach to supporting children, particularly those with special needs. If you enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and have a passion for teaching, we’d love to hear from you!

We are looking for someone who:

• Is enthusiastic about working with young children and has a positive attitude.
• Has experience of working with EYFS and/or KS1 children.
• Be an enthusiastic and engaging teacher who inspires young learners
• Has a commitment to inclusivity.
• Is committed to providing high quality and enjoyable learning opportunities for pupils.
• Is an effective and reflective practitioner with a desire to learn and develop.
• Works well as part of a team and have good interpersonal skills with colleagues, children and parents.

What the school offers its staff

CPD Opportunities and an excellent health and wellbeing package.

Commitment to safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children; we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. All shortlisted candidates will be asked to disclose any cautions or convictions prior to interview. The amendments to the ROA Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain convictions and cautions are 'protected' and are therefore not subject to disclosure to employers. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
