What skills and experience we're looking for
The Hinckley School is a thriving school that is committed to Building Brighter Futures for all of their students. It is an exciting time to join The Hinckley School, and 11-18 provider proudly serving Hinckley and its surrounding areas. In September 2023, The Hinckley School was rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted. Every decision we make is about the young people we serve, their learning experience and their personal development. We are looking to expand our team of talented professionals who excel in their field to help us on the next phase of our exciting journey.
Opportunity
We are looking to appoint a passionate and highly knowledgeable professional as teacher of Music. We are determined that our learners appreciate how music enriches their everyday lives. By building knowledge and skills for future learning and employment, we aim to prepare our students to thrive in the wider world.
Music forms a crucial role in developing pathways for students who have a passion for a range of performance disciplines, and plays an important part of an extensive Performing Arts programme at The Hinckley School. We are passionate about working collaboratively to provide all learners with the highest quality learning experience and this includes working closely with our Trust schools to provide an exceptional educational experience. We aim to inspire and motivate our students to have an impact in their school, in their local community and beyond. We closely evaluate the performance of our learners and are committed to ensuring that exceptional progress is made by all students.
The school has a rich and varied programme of Performing Arts and Music, which is delivered by specialist/professionally trained teachers. We are passionately committed to providing students with a breadth of professional experiences and opportunities including musical productions, which has included Matilda. The school also produces annual music showcases, including school’s bands, instrumental performances and singing, and we highly value sharing our music with the local community, including retirement home and local church performances. The school also offers Music at KS4 at GCSE and Btec in KS5 and we employ specialist staff, including woodwind and strings (and others) who support 1-1 and group music lessons.
