Careers & Enterprise Officer
Student Services
Salary: £20,563 per annum (£24,476 full year equivalent)
Contract Type: Permanent - Term Time 37 hours per week
Reference: REC2119 | Closing date: Thursday, 27th March 2025
Term Time Contracts
This contract offers full-time hours across 37 weeks of the year, primarily during term time. You will be required to work during the academic terms, with some additional duties outside of term time as needed. This structure provides a balance between a full-time role and flexibility during non-term periods.
The Opportunity
As our Careers and Enterprise Officer, you will support our Careers and Enterprise teams in delivering high-quality information, advice, and guidance, as well as a range of skills development initiatives. You will work closely with both our internal teams and external partners to help create meaningful opportunities for students. A key part of your role will be coordinating and welcoming our guests during Industry Weeks and other college-wide events, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that our visitors, students, and staff feel supported. You will also be responsible for assessing student Connect Badges, ensuring they meet the required standards and providing guidance to help our students showcase their skills effectively.
Your day-to-day tasks will be varied, from overseeing the Careers Front Desk and providing a friendly and professional first point of contact for our students and visitors, to supporting the administrative work of the Careers and Enterprise Team. You will play a key role in keeping things organised, ensuring events, activities, and initiatives are well-planned and delivered successfully. You will also work closely with your line manager to track and analyse cross-college skills development, producing reports and insights that help shape future opportunities for our students.
Beyond this, you will be involved in promoting initiatives such as BCEF and Futurepreneurs, helping to raise awareness and encourage participation amongst our students and staff. You will also support the delivery of our open events, engaging with prospective students, parents, and key stakeholders to showcase the opportunities available at Barnsley College. Working collaboratively with colleagues across different departments, you will help ensure events and initiatives are well-coordinated, creating valuable experiences that support students in their development and future careers.
This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in our students’ futures by connecting them with industry professionals and career opportunities!
