Salford Business School is seeking a Technical Specialist (Audio / Audio Production) to support the Centre for Sustainable Innovation (CSI), under the direction of the CSI Director and Media City Immersive Technology Innovation Hub (MITIH) Co – Investigator. Launched in January 2024, CSI focuses on digital transformation, sustainability, and change management, serving as an innovation hub for partnerships with industry and academia.
This exciting role supports the project technical team and academic colleagues in achieving their outputs. Aligned to the Media City Immersive Technology Innovation Hub (MITIH) project that brings together Salford Council and UoS to provide an Innovation Accelerator for Immersive technologies you will be responsible for providing technical R&D support in development of innovative products and services that utilise Audio and Audio Production for businesses across Greater Manchester including:
Exploring the use of Audio and Audio Production for development of Innovative products for SMEs
Development of Audio and Audio Production applications for SMEs
Providing Technical Assistance and Advise to SMEs adopting this technology
Disseminating best practice and results to academic and industry audiences
Responsibilities include:
To provide technical assistance to SMEs adopting Audio and Audio Production for developing innovative products and services.
To work with the Project Manager and Academic Experts to specify, plan and develop applications that utilise Audio and Audio Production to meet business needs for SMEs
To take responsibility for the management of quality in all technical aspects of the project, ensuring that projects are planned and delivered on time.
To participate in relevant operational and technical meetings to represent the University’s role in the MITIH.
To co-ordinate, manage and make recommendations for all administrative and operational processes relating to MITIH.
To ensure that progress on project development is monitored, including liaison with project deliverers, commercial clients and/or funding organisations so that deviations from project plans or other potential problems can be highlighted and addressed as early as possible.
To attend and represent the University at Exhibitions, Trade Shows and meetings as necessary.
To ensure the Health and Safety of all staff and customers at all times, complying with the University’s policies and processes.
Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade as may be required by the MITIH.
Bring to the attention of managers any matters relating to the health and safety of staff, students and visitors;
Engage with the University’s commitment to deliver value for money services that optimise the use of resources by maintaining a cost-conscious approach when undertaking all duties and aspects of the role;
Promote equality and diversity for students and staff and sustain an inclusive and supportive study and work environment in accordance with University policy;
