A Vacancy at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
An opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Practitioner at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Trust to cover a maternity leave vacancy and, lead the Pelvic healthteam and provide expert clinical intervention.
The role works alongside consultants on the Pelvic floor unit, and expert physiotherapy assessment and treatment of pelvic floor conditions.
You will be actively supported to contribute to the continued evaluation of the service and dissemination of work by publication and at
conferences.
You will lead The Pelvic Health clinical team which currently comprises of 4 x Band 7/ 2 x band 6/ 1 x band 5/ 1 x band 4, providing support and
professional development. The team provides both Obstetric and gynaecological physiotherapy.
An MSc or equivalent, and previous experience of advanced Pelvic Health skills including internal examinations is required.
There is role is 27 hours per week, but options or variation to the hours can be explored at interview and with the successful candidate.
• To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of the practitioner’s professional activities.
• To carry out assessment, analysis and formulation of best care programmes for a wide range of patients as an expert autonomous practitioner, including those with highly complex presentations and to use clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of evidence based practice and advanced rehabilitation expertise to determine appropriate care plan utilising highly specialist treatment skills and options.
• To be responsible and accountable for own and department patient care plans, including discharge planning, and to provide consultation as an expert on Pelvic Health physiotherapy with advice and guidance for junior and senior team members and other health care professionals both within and outside the Trust.

• Provides an advanced level of clinical practice exercising autonomy of decision making in a context of complexity, uncertainty and varying levels of risk, holding accountability for their decisions.
• Responsible for the operational management of the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy servicein conjunction with the Consultant Physiotherapist in iMSK and Clinical Lead and the Head of Physiotherapy and contributes to departmental management and Trust initiatives in strategic planning and development of the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service across the whole organisation.
• Uses expert clinical reasoning skills to provide highly specialist support and advice to the physiotherapy team and other medical, nursing and midwifery staff, whilst maintaining a clinical caseload of highly complex patients.
• Professional and clinical leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive training and personal development plan for all designated pelvic health physiotherapy staff and, in conjunction with the management team, strives to ensure excellence of training across the whole organisation.
• Supports the Consultant Physiotherapists/Clinical Lead to identify and implement clinical research, audit and data collection priorities within the area of Pelvic Health expertise to inform departmental clinical development strategy.
• Responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence based practice and quality assurance in designated area.
