- Hybrid basedFull time equivalent £40,000 per annum We are seeking a dedicated Learning Solutions Specialist to join our People Team at Caledonian Sleeper on a part time basis. This pivotal role involves analysing diverse project requests across the organisation and translating them into effective learning solutions that align with both the needs of the requesters and the broader business strategy.
The Learning Solutions Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting various functions within the People Team by developing digital and online solutions that enhance the employee journey at Caledonian Sleeper. This includes guiding employees from the recruitment phase through pre-boarding, onboarding, initial induction training, and beyond.
In addition, this position will facilitate the transition away from SERCO, ensuring a smooth integration of new systems and processes that arise from this change. A key responsibility will be the development and management of the new Caledonian Sleeper Learning Management System (LMS), which will serve as a foundation for our learning initiatives.This role will report directly to the Head of People and will collaborate closely with all members of the Caledonian Sleeper People Team, fostering strong partnerships across the team.
Main Accountabilities:
- Collaboration and Leadership: Partner with the People Team and other departments to spearhead learning development solutions and projects, including the implementation of the new LMS.
- Comprehensive Employee Development: Design and deliver remote learning solutions that support the entire development journey of Caledonian Sleeper employees, from recruitment through onboarding and initial induction training.
- Training Materials Development: Assist in creating engaging training materials and resources by working with the Learning & Development Co-ordinator and Design and Delivery Specialists to produce digital standalone solutions aligned with our organisational development goals.
- LMS Management: Oversee the development, implementation and ongoing management of the Caledonian Sleeper LMS. This includes creating curriculums, managing course offerings and overseeing class registrations.
- Campaign Support: Continuously develop Campaign Comics to promote Health, Safety, Security, Quality, and Environmental (HSSQE) initiatives and campaigns effectively.
- Promoting DEIB: Utilise innovative technologies and methodologies to embed Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles within our training solutions.
- Responsibilities may change as the business evolves and as such the post holder will be expected to be adaptable.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Hold a relevant L&D Qualification.
- L&D Expertise: Proven experience in Learning and Development processes, including the full learning cycle: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation of training programs.
- Strategic Translation: Ability to interpret business strategy and objectives, translating them into effective learning solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Confidence in using various software packages to create engaging online and digital content. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Excel, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Analytical and Creative Skills: Strong analytical abilities combined with creative problem-solving skills to convert requests from the People Team into actionable solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written communication and presentation abilities.
- Team Collaboration: A flexible team player who demonstrates initiative and can work independently while managing their own projects and workload.
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a diverse workload.
- Relationship Building: A proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- The role may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate training sessions and events and a willingness and ability to travel as required.
