We’re looking for an experienced, full time Support Worker to join our wonderful team here at The Grange Centre to primarily
provide one to one support in a lone working environment.

About the Role

By joining The Grange as a Support Worker, you’ll instantly become part of our dedicated community, our ethos is person centred
care and support and you’ll see and feel this at every level. We are proud that we do not rely heavily on agency staff, so you’ll
get to know your colleagues and the people we support quickly.

As a Support Worker you’ll need to have natural empathy, great people skills and a positive approach, ensuring that everyone is
treated with dignity and respect and that we meet their needs and aspirations. You'll also need to be comfortable using computer
systems as record keeping is an essential part of the role.

After full induction and training, you’ll act primarily as a key worker to a named individual, supporting with personal and basic
care needs, helping them make informed choices regarding all aspects of healthy living and wellbeing including physical activity,
social and community opportunities, support with appointments, work/volunteering placements and occasionally support on trips or
holidays. You’ll also provide support with domestic activities such a laundry, shopping, food preparation and with medication
after training. The individual has specific needs and a unique communication style, requiring a support worker who is calm,
understanding, adaptable and able to foster a sense of autonomy and positive engagement in day to day activities. The individual
has a deep love for animals and enjoys horse riding, which they actively participate in through volunteering at stables.

Previous experience supporting individuals with communication difficulties, autism, ADHD and positive behaviour support is highly
desirable.

There’s a huge emphasis on team work and you’ll play an important part in a busy committed team of Support Workers, working in
partnership with Senior Support Workers, Team Leaders and Positive Behaviour Champions to ensure we continue to achieve our high
standards of person centred care and support.

You’ll be supported by a welcoming team and provided with an extensive training programme to help you develop your skills and
knowledge. We are happy to support people who wish to develop their careers through studying apprenticeships in Level 2 or 3 Adult
Social Care and regularly have promotion opportunities for those who want to become Senior Support Workers or Shift Lead.

We know the care industry can be tough, but The Grange brings so much joy to not only the people we support but also to the staff
team and wider community too.
