Summary


We have a fantastic opportunity for the ideal candidate to work with us on the Older Adult inpatient ward at Great Oaks. Laurel ward is a 13 bedded ward for individuals 65 and over with mental health difficulties and/or dementia. The successful person will work closely with the existing psychological therapies team and receive regular supervision from the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to support those admitted both on an informal or detained basis to promote recovery and transition back to the community. There is a real sense of multi-disciplinary team focus and the opportunity to work with a range of professionals.

Links to other Assistant Psychologists across the Trust is encouraged and opportunities to work with a range of clinical presentations is expected. You must be hard working, flexible and a super communicator to benefit from this rewarding environment.

The post holder will help qualified staff devise positive behavioural support plans for patients admitted to the ward, along with conducting file reviews and initial formulations with guidance. Neuropsychological testing will also be part of the role, from initial screens to more robust psychometric testing.

Group work will also be a feature of this role, jointly delivered by a Trainee Clinical Psychologist.

Engagement with regular supervision and reflective practice will be an expectation of the post.
