JOB DETAILS Job Title: Senior Sister/ Senior Charge Nurse Reports to: Matron Band: 7 Department: Gynaecology Outpatients Department Location Chancellor Wing, St James University Hospital JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY The Jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward/department. They will provide professional, clinical, managerial leadership and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining a ward or departments philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery. Through managing the administrative and financial aspects of the ward, the jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources. The Leeds Womens NHS Trust is a leading provider of specialist womens health services in West Yorkshire, and places great emphasis upon maintaining a high level of patient care. The women's ambulatory gynaecology unit comprises several services in one dedicated space. General gynaecology clinics, outpatient procedures clinics for hysteroscopy, colposcopy and Urogynaecology are also co-ordinated from the unit. Additionally there are new interventional procedures being run from this area such as ablations. The jobholder will be committed to continued learning of additional techniques and skills to enhance the provision for women.
