This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the newly established UK Dementia Trials Network (UK DTN). The post holder will collaborate with Principal Investigators, UK DTN funded site staff and Alzheimer’s Society Nurses across the UK, as well as liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the efficient and effective development and growth early phase dementia clinical trial delivery.
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, organised and experienced senior research nurse with excellent communication skills to help establish, develop and maintain a burgeoning portfolio of early phase dementia clinical trials, as well as overseeing the systems, procedures and teams associated with the delivery of early phase dementia clinical trials in the Dementia Research Centre (DRC) and Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre (LWENC). The post is to start as soon as possible for [3 years] in the first instance.

The UK DTN Alzheimer’s Society Lead Research Nurse is an experienced
independent specialist practitioner working in partnership with the DRC
Director, Head of Clinical Trials, trial management team and CRF Deputy Lead Nurse to lead the delivery and growth of clinical trials locally within the DRC.


The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical and professional
leadership and line management to research staff within the DRC.
The post holder will have joint responsibility with the senior management team and Head of Trials for overseeing the management and delivery of early phase research studies in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure that all studies are delivered to high research and clinical governance standards.


The Alzheimer’s Society Lead Research Nurse will be responsible for providing leadership, support, training, and education for the trials team, supported by the senior management teams. The post holder will also be responsible for directly managing patients on clinical trials.
