What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an ambitious and creative teacher to join our school's committed teaching team starting in September 2025. The successful candidate will enjoy working with children and feel motivated to aim high for every pupil, providing a caring and supportive learning environment. Teachers at Greystones are excellent team-players and work together to provide the best school experience for every child.

We need a teacher who:

• has a strong knowledge of primary teaching and learning in Key Stage 2
• can demonstrate high quality, creative teaching and learning
• is highly motivated and will contribute to the continual improvement of the school
• is able to support the positive ethos and values of the school
• will be able to ensure excellent progress and promote the success of every child in the class

What the school offers its staff

There is a lot to recommend working Greystones Primary School!

- Fantastic and well-behaved pupils who have great attitudes to learning and thrive in our warm, calm and ambitious learning environment

- Committed teachers who go the extra mile and form excellent relationships with every child in their class

- A well-sequenced and engaging curriculum that offers exciting learning opportunities to every child

- A community that is second to none in its support of our school. Our parents are active participants in their children's learning and share our ambitions for each child to thrive and do well in school every day.

- A well-planned professional development offer for all our staff team. We strongly encourage and support colleagues to access training opportunities which motivate them and support our school's ongoing journey of improvement.

- A supportive and hardworking senior team. Workload and wellbeing are taken seriously at Greystones - we believe teaching is the best job in the world and we want our teachers to feel that every day too.

- Skilled, intelligent and friendly support teams. From TAs to our admin team, everyone at Greystones pulls in the same direction to get the best for our children.

- Attractive learning environments, including recently updated classrooms, library and staff facilities.

- A strong outdoor learning offer for our pupils: developing environmental awareness and opportunities to learn outdoors is a strength of our curriculum

- Easy access to/from Sheffield City Centre and the Peak District. Our community is cosmopolitan, diverse and our pupils benefit from living in close proximity to excellent parks and green spaces.

Greystones Primary School is a local authority maintained school at the moment. We are currently in the process of academisation, with an order for joining Peak Edge Academy Trust in the near future. This role will continue on a permanent basis and will be subject to TUPE arrangements on converting.

Commitment to safeguarding

Greystones is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people; we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. All shortlisted candidates should disclose any cautions or convictions prior to interview. The amendments to the ROA Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain convictions and cautions are 'protected' and therefore not subject to disclosure to employers.
