Summary

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Systems support officer to join our Bellavista team . This role involves managing, maintaining, and supporting IT systems across our care homes, ensuring smooth operation of critical software, such as Mobizo (for paperless resident documentation) and People Planner (staff management software). Additionally, the role includes general system and network support to ensure optimal performance for all staff users.

Key Responsibilities:

System and Network Monitoring:
Monitor the performance and health of all IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations.
Ensure all systems and networks are secure, efficient, and functioning at optimal levels, addressing issues proactively before they impact operations.
Perform routine checks on system performance, including disk space, memory, and network traffic, to ensure smooth operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve any network connectivity issues or system failures.
Software Support:
Provide expert technical support for Mobizo, ensuring the system functions smoothly for managing paperless resident documents, care plans, and records.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to People Planner, assisting staff with staff scheduling, shift management, and personnel-related matters.
Provide ongoing support for both Mobizo and People Planner, including troubleshooting, user training, and ensuring that staff can effectively use these systems.
Desktop and Hardware Support:
Provide day-to-day desktop support for all care home staff, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and other IT hardware.
Set up new user accounts and profiles, assist with password issues, and ensure that all user devices are configured to support the needs of care home operations.
Perform hardware replacements and upgrades as required.
Systems Maintenance and Updates:
Ensure all IT systems, including operating systems and applications, are up to date with the latest patches and updates.
Perform routine maintenance, such as software installations, system backups, and updates to keep all systems running securely and efficiently.
Manage and monitor regular data backups to safeguard critical information.
Security and Compliance:
Implement best practices for IT security and ensure that the systems comply with data protection regulations, such as GDPR, safeguarding sensitive resident and staff information.
Regularly perform security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure the safety of the care home network and systems.
Ensure IT equipment is in compliance with electrical safety standards.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently, minimizing disruption to care home operations.
Collaborate with third-party vendors or service providers for complex system issues that require external support.
Maintain and monitor incident tickets to ensure issues are addressed within the required timeframes.
User Support and Training:
Provide technical support to staff members for all IT systems and software used in the care home.
Offer training and guidance to staff on how to use Mobizo, People Planner, and other IT applications effectively.
Conduct group or one-on-one training sessions for new software updates or features.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of system configurations, hardware, software installations, and troubleshooting activities.
Generate regular reports on system performance, support requests, and any incidents that need to be addressed.
Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in IT support or system administration roles, with a focus on troubleshooting, system maintenance, and network monitoring.
Familiarity with Mobizo (paperless documentation software) and People Planner (staff management software) is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of IT systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
Experience with system monitoring tools, network troubleshooting, and system security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff and provide training.
Good understanding of data protection regulations (such as GDPR) and IT security principles, especially in the healthcare sector.
Experience in a healthcare or care home setting is a plus.
