Reporting to: Curriculum Team Leader of MC6

Salary: £28,419 - £41,874 per annum *subject to progression criteria*  

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays

Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum

Basis: Full time

Pension: Teachers Pension Scheme

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Teacher of Psychology and Health and Social Care (sixth form) to join our A-Levels team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Psychology and Health and Social Care professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.



What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Teacher of Psychology and Health and Social Care (sixth form) you will:

Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Psychology and Health and Social Care within the Psychology and Health and Social Care sector.
Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in specific areas, e.g., Psychology and Health and Social Care
Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.


What We’re Looking For:

We seek candidates who:

Are a qualified Teacher and holds a relevant experience of teaching Level 3 Psychology and Health and Social Care
Hold GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
Have a current knowledge of the Ofsted EIF, and the impact of this on classroom delivery.
Have knowledge of the range of courses offered in Post 16 education that are progression routes for students studying in this area.

*The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS.  To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
