We have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to join our Orthopaedic Trauma Coordinator team.
We are looking for a enthusiastic and motivated individual who has an interest in Orthopaedic trauma.
The post holder will work within the Orthopaedic team supporting the care and supporting the pathway of Orthopaedic patients on the Wythenshawe site in line with national and regional standards.
The post holder will be part of a team that has specific responsibility for the overall co-ordination of the Orthopaedic trauma, Orthoplastic Trauma.
The post holder will be responsible for planning and implementing the pathways of care for the trauma patient.
This post may require cross site working within the Orthopaedic Trauma team at Oxford road.
Review the new Orthopaedic trauma patient’s ensuring past medical history is available including up to date blood results and appropriate test. Seeking past medical history where necessary. Ensure appropriate medication review, analgesia, VTE assessment, falls assessment and bone protection of the fractured neck of femur patients.
Establish and maintain effective communications with various departments, including Theatres, wards and Anesthetist's.
Assess patients’ individual clinical needs and develop personalised plans of care for Orthopaedic trauma patients in partnership with the clinical teams ensuring multi-disciplinary, patient centered care.
Undertake regular reviews of the patient and implement any changes to the patient’s pathway if required.
