Crynodeb
We are seeking one full-time (10 PA) Consultant to join the Paediatric and Neonatal Surgical department. The department has undergone a significant period of change in the past few years and we are now a well-established and respected unit with subspecialist practice embedded in the departmental team. We are seeking to appoint an individual with a special interest in Upper GI/thoracic surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to join the thoracic and tracheo-oesophageal fistula (TOF) emergency cover rota on a 1:3 basis, although we anticipate a period of supported practice. The post holder will have an average of four session operating list per month. It will be their responsibility to run those lists and work with colleagues from associated specialities in a professional manner. The post holder will be expected to be actively involved in the management of the department including attendance at the morning handover meeting, relevant weekly MDT meetings and monthly audit meetings. The post holder will participate in the on-call rota and the Consultant of the Week rota for the St. Thomas site. The post holder will be expected to provide professional supervision and management of the junior staff, and undertake medical student The post holder will be expected to engage in clinical governance activities including clinical audit and continued professional development.
