Fire and Secuirty Commissioning Technician - Facilities Management

Location: Glasgow
Salary: Competitive up to £44,000 per annum

About the Role:

We are seeking a Commissioning Technician to join our dynamic Facilities Management team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in the commissioning, testing, and handover of mechanical and electrical (M&E) building services systems within commercial and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform commissioning, testing, and validation of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and BMS controls.
  • Conduct functional performance testing, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues.
  • Work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth system integration.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and commissioning plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health & safety standards, and best practices.
  • Produce detailed commissioning reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support ongoing system optimization and provide technical guidance to maintenance teams.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Technician within Facilities Management, M&E, or building services.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards (e.g., CIBSE, BSRIA, SFG20).
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
