Driving Excellence in Care for Women with Complex Medical Needs during Pregnancy
Are you passionate about improving outcomes for women with pre-existing or complex medical conditions during pregnancy? We have an exciting opportunity for a Maternal Medicine Specialist Midwife to join our dedicated team and help implement Maternal Medicine Networks across North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT).
About the Role
This pan-site position will focus on developing and implementing pathways and services for women requiring specialist care during pregnancy.
What We’re Looking For
• A registered midwife with significant clinical experience and a passion for maternal medicine.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Experience in pathway development and a dedication to quality improvement.
• Flexibility to work across multiple sites, contributing to a culture of seamless, patient-centred care.

You will work closely with antenatal teams, specialist midwives, obstetric colleagues, and specialist consultants to:
• Optimise outcomes for women with pre-existing medical conditions.
• Reduce inequalities in access and care quality.
• Enhance fetal medicine services, ensuring seamless pathways to tertiary units and neonatal services when needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored support for complex maternity cases.
• Implement national guidelines and best practices related to Maternal Medicine Networks.
• Facilitate cross-cover with fetal medicine services and coordinate referrals where necessary.
• Champion safe and effective care, driving continuous improvement in maternal outcomes across all NWAFT sites.
