The role – People Advisor

As a People Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of our experienced People Team, providing expert advice on a wide range of people-related issues. From Employee Relations and payroll to HR systems (Ciphr), contract variations, employee benefits, sickness absence, and performance management.

But that’s not all! Origin is embarking on an exciting journey of change, and you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting us through the TUPE process. Your contributions will be crucial in shaping our future and ensuring a smooth transition.

This is a maternity cover role for up to 12 months

What you’ll do

You will:

Ensure effective risk management and adherence to policies and procedures, observing relevant legislation and equal opportunities principles.
Provide HR and employment law advice on Employee Relations matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, change consultations, TUPE transfers, flexible working requests, and sickness and probation issues.
Support and lead organisation-wide projects and initiatives, from planning through to implementation and evaluation, under the supervision of the People Services Manager/Head of People.
Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing the environment and implementing changes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
Lead performance management system upgrades, review and upgrade other HR systems, and ensure accuracy in employment contracts, pay changes, and data audits.
Design, update, and lead training workshops for employees and managers, and provide day-to-day support and coaching to the People Coordinator and People Officer.
What you’ll need

We’re looking for someone who:

Is Fully or part CIPD qualified
Has knowledge of employment law and HR best practice with experience of advising, supporting and coaching managers on recruitment, training, performance, conduct and absence management
Ability to understand and implement regulations, policies and guidance
Is experienced in delivering a HR service within a busy working environment
Can demonstrate experience of supporting projects (from planning stage to implementation and evaluation) with effective planning & organisational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments
Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other relevant platforms
Able to use People systems and has a working knowledge, entering data into relevant systems, ensuring data quality and can maintain accurate records and be able to analyse and interpret data.
