The Security Officer is responsible for the security, safety, welfare of occupiers, visitors and supporting the DSM in delivering the smooth and efficient running of the Security Service for one of our beautiful corporate destinations in the City of London offering 45,000 sq. ft of new gardens.
The Security Officer will protect these by maintaining a vigilant, pro-active security presence to minimise security risks to people and property.

Location: Central London (EC2Y 5AU)
Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour
Hours: Average 56 hours per week
Shifts: 7 on 3 off 7 on 4 off – Days & Nights
Job Requirements:
SIA Licence Required
Corporate Security experience ideal
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer focused, with a strong knowledge of customer service skills
Demonstrate a strong aptitude for multi-tasking
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
Team player, who will support colleagues and provide ideas to improve service delivery
Ability to think and act quickly in emergency incidents or under pressure
Excellent PC / IT skills
CCTV licence & First Aid qualification will be a bonus
The role holder will develop operational excellence and best practice; optimising our service and value offering to customers to achieve performance targets. You will bring innovation and ensure a high-performance culture within your remit. This is an active and visible role requiring strong communication competence in addition to procedural knowledge and adherence. Client, occupier & service provider interaction is significant and excellent relationship management skills are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver and encourage outstanding customer service delivery
The Security Officer will need to be able to spend reasonable periods of time during a 12-hour shift both on patrol and standing on post
They will be expected to cover the DSM during any period of absence.
Ensure full understanding of the emergency procedures
Ensure a full understanding of the Assignment Instructions
Ensure their post is correctly manned at the specific times. This includes being on post at latest, the start time of your shift
Ensure SIA licence is always on your person and on display
Report any issues or incidents to the Controller, Duty Security Manager or Security Manager
Respond to all incidents in line with policies and procedures
To carry out various site patrols as per the patrol schedule
To carry out any additional patrols as instructed by Building Management
Report any discrepancies/incidents whilst on patrol to the security control room
Carry out Security Officer duties as directed in the Assignment Instructions
Control access and egress at Front of House or Back of House
Manage a polite and effective meet and greet service to all staff and visitors, whilst strictly observing access control procedures
Ensure those who should not be granted access to the building are professionally and politely prevented from gaining access or escorted from the building
Carry out ID checks in line with instructions issued
Provide tenants and visitors to the building with helpful advice, guidance and information. If not able to do so, direct to the correct personnel who can assist.
Respond as per the policies and procedures in all emergency incidents and evacuations.
Respond to these in a calm and professional manner. Actively provide information to any emergency services when required to do so
Deal with conflict in an appropriate and confident manner, if required
Cover for the Security Controller for any absence and partake in relevant CCTV Controller training as part of your Security Officer role
Be vigilant to the Health & Safety risks at the building
Ensure you are immaculately presented, in accordance with company regulations and client expectations
Remain professional at all times
Report security or safety issues to the security control room or management
Carry out a thorough handover when changing duties or at the start or end of each shift
Undertake all training courses/modules as requested
