You may already have some business analysis experience or have transferable skills to bring to the role.
We have vacancies in several areas within DWP Digital including:
- Citizen Information – responsible for maintaining and protecting personal information, alongside delivering innovative solutions to maximise data solutions within DWP.
- Cross Boundary (ESSI) – responsible for running the service, Exchanging Electronic Social Security Information, with other social security institutions within Europe.
- Customer Communications and Media Services (C-CAMS) - responsible for managing inbound and outbound customer notifications for DWP benefit systems, such as letters, SMS/TEXT, Email and Forms along with storing and indexing evidence.
- People, Financial & Commercial (PF&C) – responsible for sourcing and integrating third party supplier corporate services into the department and sourcing support to develop and implement new or enhanced services.
- Fraud & Error - enabling services to quickly and effectively prevent and detect fraud and error in the benefit system.
- Working Age Services - delivers services to help people find work, progress in work, and support those who are vulnerable or unable to work.
As an Associate Business Analyst (BA) you will work towards developing a good understanding of the tools and techniques used by BAs.
You will be given appropriate responsibility and, under the guidance of other BAs, will assist in delivering change for the department, by defining requirements and recommending solutions.
You will continue to grow your capabilities through working with more experienced BAs and continually growing your skills and knowledge through the support of the wider business analysis community.
As an Associate BA working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will be doing:
- Working with BAs to develop your understanding of Agile principles, methods and tools in support of your development.
- Supporting workshops under the guidance of experienced BAs.
- Running your own interviews, focus groups and more, to effectively understand the business problems and user needs.
- Translating the business problem and user needs into a set of detailed requirements.
- Gaining a knowledge of best practice methodology.
- Developing stakeholder relationships and working to resolve risks and issues in an appropriate manner.
- Communicating effectively across both technical and business stakeholders.
- Understanding business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service.
- Producing AS-IS models of existing business processes and playing them back to stakeholders for validation.
- Raising any potential process improvements, risks or benefits of the proposed models to the wider team.
- Supporting the team in prioritising user stories for each sprint.
- Taking responsibility for improving your own knowledge of Business Analysis and Agile principles, methods and tools and seeking mentoring and shadowing opportunities within the BA community.
