Main Duties Continued: - Respond to all patient deterioration - PEWS triggers in any paediatric area including those outside the Childrens Hospital e.g. CED / recovery / CRF / Eye Department.- Liaise directly with operational bed managers regarding patient allocation to ensure patient safety. This includes response to escalations of children requiring support within the CED department & the potential for HDU requirement.- OOHs provide additional leadership/operational support to maintain patient safety at senior level.- Review all patients stepping down from PICU & communicate clinical management plans with the appropriate clinical medical teams. This may also include reviewing patients stepping down from PHDU to other ward areas as required.- Provide bedside clinical decision support to all clinical professionals as required. - Liaise with other nurse specialist teams where appropriate.- Actively contribute to communications for children with complex needs especially where more than 1 clinical team is involved.-Active involvement in Adverse Event Reporting (AER) in context of raising concern and addressing any learning required. This will be feedback via QuEST.- Attend & participate in weekly Child Deterioration and Death (CDaD) reviews.- Participate in Education / development programmes for all Paediatric clinical staff.- Collation of Paediatric Outreach daily Activity data encompassing the 4 pillars of ACP practice The service is supported by Consultant Paediatrician & Lead Nurse.The ideal candidate will need to have the ability to work flexibly and consistently across all paediatric areas within UHS where daily workload can be unpredictable. This is a 24/7 service which will include day & night shift working including weekend working.This is a trainee role with the provision of in service training prior to commencing a 3yr MSc ACP pathway which will include HTPA / Clinical decision Making / Non Medical Prescribing / Leadership & dissertation. Clinical supervision will be provided from within this ACP team with a full ACP supervisor.Commitment is required to participate in and complete the full MSc in this ACP Lead service.
