Principal Building Control Surveyor (PO5)
Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Building Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that construction projects comply with all applicable codes and regulations, maintaining the safety and quality of buildings within our community. You will conduct thorough inspections of various structures, including residential and commercial properties, evaluating them for adherence to local building codes, safety standards, and zoning regulations. Your keen eye for detail will help identify potential issues and provide recommendations for improvements when necessary. As a Registered Building Inspector, you will collaborate closely with contractors, architects, and builders, providing expert guidance on best practices and compliance. Your excellent communication skills will be essential, as you will need to prepare detailed reports of your findings and effectively convey any necessary changes or corrections to stakeholders. Responsibilities
Conduct detailed inspections of new construction, renovations, and existing structures to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
Prepare written reports detailing inspection findings and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Collaborate with contractors, architects, and builders to provide technical guidance on building standards and compliance requirements.
Review building plans and specifications to ensure they meet established codes and safety standards.
Monitor ongoing construction projects to ensure adherence to approved plans and timely compliance with regulations.
Educate homeowners, contractors, and the public on building codes, inspection processes, and safety measures.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and communications with stakeholders.
Requirements
Must be a Registered Building Inspector with relevant certifications.
Proven experience in building inspection, construction management, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
Excellent observational and analytical skills to identify potential issues in structures.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and advising stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in using inspection tools and technologies for accurate assessments.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £28.00
