LEEDS TEACHING HOSPITAL NHS TRUST JOB DESCRIPTION JOB DETAILS: Job Title: Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine Grade: ST6+ Specialty/Department: Emergency Medicine Site and Location: LGI/SJUH Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is one of the largest acute hospital trusts in the country. It provides emergency care in three Emergency Departments with Adult Emergency Departments at St James University Hospital and the Leeds General Infirmary and a separate Pediatric Emergency Department at the Leeds General Infirmary. The Leeds Emergency Department offer 12-month Senior Clinical Fellows posts designed to provide individually tailored experience for those who want to develop a special interest in Emergency Medicine whilst working in a large teaching hospital and major trauma center. Our fellowship posts are designed with non-clinical time (20%) to allow for the development of special interests. They are supported by a generous study budget. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Please see Person Specification. The posts are for candidates completed training in Emergency Medicine. Looking to further experience and develop areas of interest. LEVELS OF RESPONSIBILITY The appointee must have substantial experience in Emergency Medicine and should be eligible of entry into Specialist Register in Emergency medicine. Applicants must provide information regarding their status from the GMC and/or relevant Royal College at the time of application for the application to be progressed further. Ideally the candidate will have completed FRCEM, or equivalent qualification The appointee must be able to demonstrate they have the skills and competencies to work at ST6 or higher level. DUTIES OF THE POST Our Senior Clinical Fellows work alongside our HSTs in Emergency Medicine and Staff Grade doctors on our tier two rota. Fellows work across both sites and all departments. Candidates applying for this role will have an allocated appropriate educational supervisors and supported to develop areas of interest. The doctor will be supported through the annual appraisal process and requirements of revalidation. Part of this will need to clearly demonstrate the non clinical activity delivered during the time. Candidates can choose to work in the established pillars which suits their development needs -Education -Workforce -Governance and Risk -Information Technology -Research We welcome the development of fellowships in additional areas and would be happy to discuss options with you on application. The posts are offered on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months in the first instance due to a limited term project. The post holder must be registered with GMC and hold a license to practice. Pay scale - ST6-8 Nodal point 5 £70,425 with out of hours enhancement.
