Job Title: Psychologist – Children & Young People Services
Location: Across multiple sites in Peterborough, Northampton, London, and Kent
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychologist to join our Children & Young People Services. In this role, you will work across various sites in Peterborough, Northampton, London, and Kent, providing high-quality psychological support to children, young people, and staff in care or residential settings. You will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and developing tailored interventions that promote positive mental health and well-being for children and young people.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children and young people in care, working alongside a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments of children and young people, identifying emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues.
- Develop and implement tailored intervention plans, providing psychological support to children, young people, and staff.
- Work closely with care staff to deliver training and guidance on mental health, behaviour management, and therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, healthcare teams, and educators, to ensure holistic care.
- Monitor progress and adjust therapeutic interventions as necessary, ensuring the well-being of children and young people in care.
- Provide support and advice to staff regarding challenging behaviors and complex emotional needs.
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating evidence-based psychological practices.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding regulations.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Must hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology (Clinical, Educational, or Child Psychology preferred).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Proven experience working with children, young people, and staff in care or residential settings.
- Strong knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to assess and diagnose psychological conditions and create personalized intervention plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and staff.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

- A full UK driving license is required for travel between sites.
