Summary
To be the Lead Officer for managing the Naval Base Commanders Environmental Management System (EMS), in support of 14001 certification.
To be the lead Intelligent Customer and point of contact for the Babcock delivery of contracted outputs related to environmental processes.
To be the lead for environment Assurance, undertaking audits and inspections on behalf of The Assistant Head of Health Safety/Security Assurance (Asst/Hd/HSA) in accordance with the Integrated Audit Plan and Active Monitoring Programme for HMNB/D.
Provide independent competent environmental advice to line management and others operating on the site.
To be the lead for all issues associated with the EMS liaising with internal and external regulators and stakeholders.
Fulfill the role of lead environmentalist to all NBC staff and external agencies. Responsible for complete awareness of all arising and current environmental issues, their understanding communication and dissemination within the NBC organisation.
Update and advise on the climate risk and resilience, to ensure the Naval Base has the potential to mitigate the impacts of climate change and rising sea levels for future operational capabilities.
Ensure the Naval Base Business Plan is targeted towards objectives outlined in its 14001 certification.
Maintain and monitor environmental targets to ensure that they meet a plan, do, check, act format to support, 14001 life cycle.
