About the role

Full time, Fixed Term Post (up to 24 months), Commencing September 2025

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Bury Community Educational Psychology. You will assist Bury Council in the delivery of psychological intervention, support and training for children and young people, their families, schools and wider communities.

This work will involve assisting in the development and delivery of a range of services and interventions including:

  • Direct individual work with CYP, including statutory assessment work
  • Training and development work, including wellbeing programmes and mental health support teams.
  • Group work with children and young people
  • 1:1 mentoring/therapeutic work with children and young people
  • Evaluation of service delivery
  • Administration
  • Project work


The service is partnered with the Salford and Tameside Educational Psychology Service and there will be development opportunities across all services and support from other Trainee Educational Psychologists.


Requirements of the post:

  • Eligibility for registration with the British Psychological Society (Graduate basis for registration or Chartership (GBR/GBC);
  • Relevant experience of working with children in family homes, educational / clinical or community settings to promote children’s well-being and progress;
  • Evidence of using psychological understanding and approaches to support practice;
  • Subject to an Enhanced DBS Check


Applications are invited from candidates who are enrolled on the professional doctorate and are working towards qualifying as an Educational Psychologist.
