Crynodeb
We are looking for an experienced or trainee metal polisher to join our 10 person team at Kaymet, a long established and family run manufacturer of deluxe craft-produced anodised aluminium serving trays, trolleys and hotplates.
The Kaymet factory is in Peckham (near the Old Kent Road, SE1 5AN). We are a stalwart of inner London's small but vibrant manufacturing economy, a Royal Warrant holder and winner of a Queen's Award for Enterprise.
Currently there are two skilled metal polishers in our team, and we are wanting to expand to three. Working within our polishing 'shop, the job will include careful belt linishing, and spindle lathe polishing and buffing / shining, of aluminium components and trays, ready for anodising.
Experience working with aluminium is desirable, or the ability to adjust and refine technique rapidly.
We will also consider less experienced (even new-start) candidates who are willing to learn linishing and metal polishing skills and who demonstrate aptitude and interest. This is demanding and quite dirty physical work, and it requires concentration, care, dexterity, and a good work momentum (we need to consistently produce at-pace in order to stay viable).
Full time is assumed but part-time is also a possibility. This will be a conventional employment with benefits including 31 days of paid holiday per year. Our working hours are 7:00 until 3:30.
An attractive salary can be offered, appropriately matched to skill and experience. We have indicated the likely range.
