Summary
Field Ecologist and Ecological Contractor
Full-time, permanent
Based near Andover, Hampshire.
Closing date: 31 March 2025
Greenvue is a small but vibrant, family-owned business with an established network of clients - from leading UK construction companies and ecological consultancies, to local parish councils. We are paving the way in offering bespoke ecological contracting solutions by combining an extensive knowledge of ecology with the practical implementation of mitigation and enhancement methods. We are growing, and looking for enthusiastic, driven, proactive individuals to become a part of our team.
Do any of the following apply to you?
- Someone new to the ecology industry who is looking for their first full-time role?
An experienced ecologist who wants to develop their practical skills rather than become deskbound writing reports?
- A contractor (e.g. an arborist) who wishes to introduce variety and further depth of application to their existing practical skills?
- Someone with a passion for wildlife, who enjoys working outside with nature, has a strong work ethic and is excited at the opportunity to learn new skills?
If so, we would love to hear from you.
What we need you to have:
To be considered for the role, you will need to have:
- A willingness to work in different locations, in all weather conditions. A solid work ethic - some days are tough, but you’ll never be bored!
- A good sense of initiative, strong problem solving skills and an ability to think on your feet.
- A genuine and active interest in the ecology industry, protected species and UK wildlife.
- Honest, straight-talking, confident and professional communication skills.
A full, valid driving license.
What we’d love you to have:
The following are desirable but by no means essential to be considered for the role:
- Tickets/qualifications for tools and machinery (e.g. chainsaw, brushcutters and woodchippers).
- Tree-climbing qualifications.
- Registrations to Natural England class licences for great crested newt, dormouse and bats.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid training.
What we can offer you:
- Training, career development, professional growth, support with licenses, tickets and professional certifications.
- A genuinely exciting opportunity in a growing niche within the ecology sector.
- Teammates who will listen to your ideas and reward your hard work.
- Experience in delivering a variety of contracting projects (e.g. mitigation fencing installation, construction of artificial badger setts, sensitive vegetation clearance and tree works in the presence of protected species).
The role also includes surveying for protected species and providing ECoW supervision for external contractors.
For further details about this role, please email info@greenvue.co.uk or call Ed on 07835398766. To apply, please submit your CV with a brief covering letter detailing your reasons for application, to the above email address.
This role is not open to recruitment agents. Direct applications only please.
