Institute of Infection and Immunology Research / School of Biological Sciences / College of Science & Engineering
Full Time: 35 hours per week
Open- ended: permanent contract
We are looking for a facility manager for the SBS flow cytometry core facility.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) with most of that time expected to be on campus in the flow facility. We are open to considering job-share flexible working patterns.
The Opportunity:
The SBS flow cytometry facility is a core facility with expertise in research and teaching and a large, diverse user base across biology. We have both conventional and spectral flow cytometers (Fortessa, Aria, Sony ID7000 analysers; an Aria and a recently purchased BD Discover S8 spectral & imaging sorter). We are looking to recruit a facility manager to lead the flow facility: driving best quality experimental design and data acquisition; supporting the cytometers, the users and the wider school community; and contributing to plans for long-term growth and sustainability.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Expert in flow cytometry and relevant technologies
Confident in high parameter data analysis and interpretation
Skilled communicator, ready to work with a broad range of staff and student colleagues
Experienced manager, able to lead complex projects and teams
Committed to training and supervising people of all levels of experience
