Would you like to work for an award-winning boatbuilding company based in waterside offices near Falmouth, Cornwall - the perfect destination for sailors, surfers and beach lovers?
Cockwells is globally respected in the marine industry and at the forefront of designing and building luxury motor launches and superyacht tenders. We cleverly integrate traditional boatbuilding skills with innovative engineering and modern techniques to build vessels of the highest quality.
We now require full-time Infusion Laminators to come and join our team working 07.00am-17.30pm
Monday-Thursday (40 hours per week).
Job description
• Working from drawings and construction instructions to lay-up polyester components in
an accurate manner within time and cost budget.
• Prepare moulds for lay-up without supervision
• Gelcoat a prepped mould
• Record work completed according to our Quality control processes
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Work well within a team and be happy to occasionally do work and tasks outside of
normal duties for the benefit of the company and its operations
Essential skills
• Polishing components
Infusion laminating
• Gelling skills
• Prepping moulds
• Snagging worked components
• Have the ability to read and understand drawings
• Positive attuite, with a desire to pursue perfection
• Ability to manage your time efficiently
• Able to work well within a team
• Produce work in a clean and productive manner
Desirable skills
• Experience in epoxy or carbon fibre
• Mould construction and repair
• Set up moulds, adding frame work as per drawings
• Gelcoat repairs
