Male/Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a child (10 years old) with Autism and Learning Disabilities living in the Cambuslang area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within home. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
● Engaging in play activities to improve his fine motor skills
● Teaching him life skills (for example, dressing/undressing)
● Developing communication skills so that I can express my feelings when something bothers me, or I am not happy with it. For example, my son does masking at school and has meltdowns after school and when at home.
● Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are listening to book stories, messy play, watching Scotrail YouTube videos and sensory experiences.
Experience is required but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for 1 position.
6 hours per week
Days and times:
Typically - Tuesday (6pm - 9pm and Saturday (4pm - 7pm)
Hourly rate:
£12.00 per hour
