The Role
As a Dog Handler, you will play a key role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and proper care of dogs. Your responsibilities will contribute to maintaining high animal welfare standards while supporting the wider kennel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for dogs, including feeding, grooming, exercise, and maintaining hygiene.
- Clean kennels and related areas to prevent the spread of disease.
- Report any health issues, injuries, or concerns about the dogs to the Senior Dog Handler.
- Transport dogs safely and ensure their well-being during travel.
- Inspect kennels and equipment for maintenance needs, reporting any issues.
- Maintain accurate records related to dog care.
- Assist with the rehoming process by conducting checks and meeting potential new owners.
- Support new team members through buddying.
- Participate in dog training sessions.
- Assist at promotional events as required.
- Ensure all activities prioritise client safety, customer satisfaction, and animal welfare.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a professional with:
- Experience with dogs (Essential).
- Qualification in Dog Care (Desirable).
- Clean Driving Licence (Essential).
- Confidence with handling sharp dogs (Essential).
