Crynodeb
Clinical Your main base of clinical work will be at Derriford ED where you will deliver, supervise, and lead a full range of Emergency Medicine care to adult and paediatric populations. The post holder will provide Emergency Medicine care at all UHPT satellite sites as required. The panel will discuss any specialist interests at the interview. Management and Leadership Responsibilities The appointee with undertake administrative duties associated with the efficient and safe running of the Department. They will actively engage and support the department through departmental management roles including clinical governance, teaching, supervision of junior staff, training (for which study leave is provided) and quality improvement. On Call Commitment and Job Plan The job plan for the trust is a standard 8.5 Direct Clinical Care/1.5 Supporting Professional Activities split. Additional sessions may be available depending on the needs of the department and will be discussed as part of job planning. The annualised rota has an-call frequency of 1:6 frequency. Job planning also gets review 6 months into post. Teaching and Training We are a university teaching hospital delivering teaching to medical students across all year groups. We have national Emergency Medicine trainees, international medical graduate recruits, CESR trainees and an expanding ACP cohort. The department provides in-house training and contributes to regional and national training and recruitment. Reporting and Accountability The successful applicant must engage with the Trust appraisal and revalidation process. They will be directly reportable to the Service Line Director for the ED. The hospital follows a triumvirate leadership model.
