Role Purpose:
Develop and embed the application of Data Science techniques within the Superdrug Insights team, supporting the wider business to drive decision making within multiple business areas.
A typical day in this role includes:
· Collect, clean and process data from various sources to support the Insight function.
· Update and run existing code to refresh ongoing data science projects.
· Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms in line with business needs.
· Work collaboratively with teammates, providing data science and analytical expertise and guidance as needed.
· Work collaboratively with the rest of the Insight team to develop new methodologies with a focus on Data Science to solve business questions that impact our stakeholder teams.
· Actively explore opportunities to improve existing methods within the Superdrug business with a focus on improving efficiencies.
· Collaborate with the wider AS Watson Group to share best practice and knowledge to support the development of Data Science across the wider business.
· Create and implement PowerBI Dashboards to support Data Science projects and drive democratisation within the business.
· Work on non-data science analytical tasks as needed by the business
Stakeholders include:
· Internal – Supply Chain, Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, CRM, E-Commerce, Store Teams
· External – Suppliers (Multinational FMCG companies) and Research and Data Agencies

What you’ll need:
· Degree level education in a numerate, business focused or technical subject. i.e. Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Economics, IT Programming; or equivalent experience.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
· Proven experience working in a Data Scientist or similar role (2+ years).
· Strong knowledge of statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
· Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken).
· Enthusiastic personality, proactive and willing to challenge the status quo.
Desirable:
· Retail or customer service experience (office or shop floor based)
· Tableau or other data visualisation tool experience
