Summary
Job Purpose
• Delivering driver training: Provide high-quality training to HGV drivers.
• Delivering classroom training: provide logistic based training (e.g. ADR, Driver CPC)
• Supporting trainees: Assist trainees through their assessments and ensure they meet the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Development and delivery of training: Help create and implement effective training sessions
• Customer service: Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the training process.
• Assessment: Conduct assessments and provide feedback to trainees.
• Compliance: Ensure all training complies with relevant driving legislation and safety standards.
Specific Duties
• Training delivery: Provide practical and theoretical training sessions.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports of trainee progress.
• Health and safety: Ensure all health and safety policies are followed.
• Equipment maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of training vehicles.
Qualifications and Skills
• HGV / PCV Licence: Must hold a full HGV licence for the category being instructed for over 3 years
• L3 ( or above) Award in Education and Training desirable
• Experience: Previous HGV / PSV instructing experience is preferred but not always required.
• Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service: Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
Continuing Professional Development
• Training: Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
