Summary

This is your chance to support Ipswich by leading projects aimed on driving down waste, increasing reuse and recycling and promoting the circular economy and shaping the future of waste collection in Ipswich. We are seeking a passionate individual who is committed to environmental sustainability and has knowledge of waste collection and waste management services with a willingness to engage and interact with the public.

The postholder will assist and advise the Waste Managers with the planned digital transformation of the service area, development, implementation and delivery of the Council’s waste related strategies, policies, and projects. Including the roll out of new services and systems. Onboarding these changes with a small but dedicated team.

The postholder will have strong desire to support Ipswich’s implementation of any new waste and recycling legislation linked to driving down contamination and delivering waste reduction projects as well as increasing recycling rates in the borough.

The postholder will help assist in the development of new policies and processes and work with the Council’s communication team on education, engagement, and promotion. They will work closely with our waste collections team, and be involved with the Suffolk Waste Partnership, a range of council services and the community at large to help us achieve a major step change in the borough on the waste agenda.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.

The post holder may be required to work, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays, if events are planned. These will be arranged in advance.
