Thames Reach runs projects and services that help to end homelessness in London. We work directly with homeless people on the streets and in hostels. We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. We help people find work and access training and volunteering opportunities.

About this role…

We are looking for a Support Worker to join the Southwark Works In Work Progression team.

We will not accept applications where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used to assist with completing the competency questions.

Prevention services support vulnerable people by providing them with skills, housing advice, accommodation, and tenancy sustainment support. All these services to help people transition towards leading independent lives.

You will be:

.Provide person-centred and high-quality support to Southwark residents who are in work, to progress into better employment, by supporting them to understand their skills, goals, and aspirations in relation to work.
.Manage an active caseload where you will work with clients to develop action plans to help them achieve their employment goals. Liaising with clients in all aspects of employment support including, CV’s, job search strategy, application writing and interview skills.
.Organise and support monthly employment support workshops or employer engaging events, for clients.
.Build relationships with a range of employers to source job opportunities as well as networking and developing other opportunities, to support people to get closer to their employment goals.
.Work collaboratively with the team and partners to deliver a high-quality service that exceeds the project outcomes.
.Keep accurate data, evidence, and update the case management system, understanding the need to evidence work.

You will have:

.Good IT skills and administration - Be effective in recording and reporting data.
.Experience in initiating and developing relationships with employers and other agencies for the people to access opportunities and overcome barriers to get them closer to employment.
.Empower and motivate people to build the skills and confidence they need to find and keep work.
.Knowledge and experience of providing support to people to find employment.
.Excellent listening skills and to be able to support people in an empathic and non-judgmental way.
.Experience in demonstrating a proactive and can do attitude and be a team player.
