Research and External Engagement (REE) is a new integrated service dedicated to driving forward the University’s ambitions for, research, innovation, skills and enterprise.​ This professional service works to support our students, drive research excellence, upskill and reskill the regions workforce, strengthen relationships and engagement with our alumni, business and community partners.



Through cutting-edge research initiatives, hands-on learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, civic leadership, and skills delivery, we will empower individuals to thrive in an ever-changing world. ​



The Enterprise team within REE delivers start-up and skills support to students, graduates, alumni, staff and regional entrepreneurs/founders. The team is responsible for building an inclusive and engaging environment that enables these communities to explore possibilities, create solutions to challenges, build confidence, turn ideas into reality and create societal, cultural and economic value. ​



The Enterprise team designs, manages and delivers a wide range of facilities and support. This includes enterprise programmes; incubator space; pop-up shops; coaching; mentoring; funding/investment advice; scholarships; and workshops.​



The Enterprise Team Manager will lead and manage the University’s Enterprise and Incubation Team (within REE). They will support strategic planning, with responsibility for operational delivery, ensuring effective working relationships with external partners, Professional Services and with UWE Bristol’s Schools and Colleges.



The Enterprise Team Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction for the operation, management and delivery of the University’s activities in relation to student, graduate, alumni, staff and regional enterprise and entrepreneurship support. They will be responsible for the delivery and growth of activity across UWE Bristol’s enterprise pathway, from extracurricular opportunities for undergraduate students to advanced support for aspiring entrepreneurs and start-up founders.



The Enterprise Team Manager will help provide strategic co-ordination of activities delivered across UWE Bristol’s highly successful University Enterprise Zone, ensuring an integrated and impactful approach to fostering innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship.



About you

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional with a passion for empowering entrepreneurs and supporting start-ups. You will have an excellent understanding of the challenges faced by emerging businesses and the role that universities play in innovation ecosystems.

You will have strong management skills, along with the ability to build and lead a high-performing team while inspiring and bringing people along on the journey.

This is a full time, permanent post working 37 hours per week.



This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time
